Hewlett-Packard Co., the largest personal-computer maker, will sponsor the Davis Cup for four years, the International Tennis Federation said.
Hewlett-Packard will become the official technology sponsor of the elite men’s team event, the London-based organization said in an e-mailed statement today.
“It is great news for the ITF and for the sport of tennis that a high profile company like HP has joined our international family of Davis Cup sponsors,” ITF president Francesco Ricci Bitti said in the statement. “The company has a huge global reach and diverse customer base.”
The Davis Cup is the biggest international team competition in sport, with 133 countries competing for the top prize this year, the ITF said.
